The prestigious and awarded designer David Cervera recently designed a luxury retreat in Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula which is characterized by a modest and simple concept.
The interior design project is called by El Palmar. It´s located among a grove of palms in Chuburná and has 90 square meter space.
The result is a simple three-room structure that overlooks a semi-open terrace to the north.
One of the areas has no end walls in order to be exposed to the outside. It’s also possible to see the beautiful landscapes of the garden.

In the second area, David Cervera opts for full-height glass doors that fold open to a terrace that extends from inside.
The bedroom area features tall windows that provide views of the beautiful swimming pool.
The architecture is clad and lined in a local material named chukum (a waterproof coating made from tree sap), creating the perfect balance for the polished concrete floors, which are also decorated with mosaics.creating the perfect balance for the polished concrete floors, which are also decorated with mosaics.
