All About the Designs of the Year Nominees 2017 – The Design Museum has announced the 2017 nominees for the tenth anniversary of Beazley Designs of the Year. The annual exhibition is composed of 62 nominations across six categories: Architecture, Digital, Fashion, Graphics, Product, and Transport. These nominees are selected by a panel of distinguished international designers, curators, and creatives.

This year’s nominees include a clothing line by Kanye West; Pokémon Go, the augmented reality mobile game; and the National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington D.C designed by the recently knighted Sir David Adjaye. Other nominations include IKEA furniture that does not require screws or Allen keys, the world’s first 3D printed self-driving bus, a hijab designed by Nike, and the TV experience design for the English football Premier League.

The Product category includes the furniture line Remolten that is made from molten lava – and ink made from air pollution. This innovative product is simply mindblowing.
There will be on display for all nominations their works (that include the sketches, pictures, among others). Also the winner will be selected in each category and one overall winner will be announced on January 25, 2018.
