Olson Kundig, a US firm of architecture and residence with the design for a luxury residence, as created the Bigwood Residence, Hidden in a tourist town of Idaho.

This residence holds a glass wall that swings upward, opening up to the landscape of the American West

The house consists of two cantilever bars made of glass and steel, which project into the landscape, welcoming intelligent hardware systems with details tailored to the user of the place.

The structure of this unparalleled space has a glass wall with seven meters wide that rises, allowing the space to be totally open contacting with all the surrounding nature.

Other pieces of this work were concretised bespoke. They include a four-meter black walnut dining table, changeable lighting, and a fireplace screen with the ability to open and close through steel rollers.

Providing a clear and strong connection to the surrounding environment of the residence was a guiding concern for the architects of the Seattle-based studio known for its portfolio of rustic and modern homes – Olson Kundig.

Inside, the residence features earthy materials and a palette of neutral colours – walls, ceilings and floors are lined with wood, giving a feeling of warmth to space. The rooms are equipped with modern decor, from leather sofas to metal benches.
