The Louis Ghost was inspired by The Louis XVI chair. This armchair was popularized during the ill-fated reign of Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette.

 

Kartell (the company that makes the chair) created it from polycarbonate plastic.

 

Ghost is designed for indoor-outdoor use. According to Decaso, the chair holds up well against the elements, in part because it is plastic, and has no joints that could crack or warp from exposure.

Over the years, Kartell has expanded the line to cater to a wide variety of different palettes. Now, you can buy it in a range of delicate translucent shades or solid hues.
