Best Design Conferences at Maison et Objet Paris 2016

Taking place in the Parc des Expositions Villepinte from January 22 through January 26 2016, the home and interior design fair Maison et Objet Paris promises to be a chic, elegant affair. And it will offer plenty of firsts: the new Isabella Collection by Kenneth Cobonpue, Stellar Works’ contemporary take on Ming furniture with wooden stacking chairs and aluminum tables, or paint-splashed Fleka tables by Jovana Zhang for Chinese design studio Yuhang Rong Design Library.

As this wasn’t enough, the tradeshow will invade Paris Nord Villepinte with scented candles with Karl Lagerfeld’s fashionable imprint for Welton, the new bed linen by Gianfranco Ferre Home and unique furniture pieces designed by Rosita Missoni for Missoni Home. The January edition of Maison et Objet Paris also brings us Jonas Edvard and Troels Flensted from Denmark, Katriina Nuutinen from Finland, Kjartan Oskarsson from Iceland, Kneip from Norway, and Färg & Blanche from Sweden showcasing their designs.

Also the show will offer a variety, as it is usual already, of conferences with the most promissing speakers of the design field. So in this article will show you the best design conferences at Maison&Objet Paris.

The leopard can not change its spots… Between threat of disappearance and hope for revival, nature takes over, expressing itself in all its first states, from the wild to the sacred. Confronted with a world formatted by technology, urbanization and excessive domestication, the imaginary gets wilder off the beaten tracks, and finds refuge in the innocence of an essential, preserved landscape, untouched. Contemporary creation convenes wild spirits. We return to the forest to reset. Forms and materials reconnect with elements to be in line with Mother Earth. The wild poetic gleans the elementary, the raw, the misshapen, the corroded, the burnt , the scarified. We reinject some nature into the urban space, in search of new wastelands. As shamans, designers call upon the magic of spirits and supernatural forces. ReWild Yourself.

Eugeni Quitllet reveals himself
M&O PARIS designer of the year, January 2016
Best Design Conferences at Maison et Objet Paris 2016 Eugeni Maison et Objet Paris Best Design Conferences at Maison et Objet Paris 2016 Best Design Conferences at Maison et Objet Paris 2016 Eugeni

Catalan designer Eugeni Quitllet was born on 17th April 1972. He graduated from Llotja Art School in Barcelona. He readily describes himself as a ‘Disoñador,’ a Spanish contraction of designer and dreamer. His invented future is gravity-free, with incredible aesthetics summarised in a combination of digital precision and flowing curves. This Ibiza-born industrial dreamer first witnessed a rural stretch of the beach become an informal hub for ultra-modern electronic music, before growing up in Barcelona, a place of architectural divide where Gaudi’s organic outbursts fraternise with the Pavilion designed by Mies van der Rohe, a rationalist marmoreal jewel installed in Catalonia before taking root in the United States. Eugeni Quitllet hence lives and works in Barcelona. Keep your finger on the pulse of our ever-changing paradoxical period by keeping your eye on this pioneer.

The NellyRodi Agency and its Director of the Lifestyle department Vincent Grégoire, offers a decryption of the “Y Generation” to understand the Y relation to the home and identify key success to connect to that target.

Vincent Grégoire

His piercing gaze, paired with a sense for analysis and pithy turns of phrase, is a precious aid in deciphering fashion and society phenomena. His unflagging curiosity enlightens companies and brands that consult with the Agence NellyRodi, where he is in charge of the art of living. From Korea to the Marais, not to mention London and New York, nothing escapes his attention. This agent provocateur likes nothing so much as shaking up mental habits. When everyone’s busy organizing today, it’s already tomorrow for Vincent Grégoire. When this juggler of words and concepts puts down his rolling travel bag, he undertakes to eliminate “all visual pollution”. “When you’re permanently chasing trends, you need to break away from the anecdotic, calm things down.”
