The residents of this tiny floating home in Copenhagen begin each day diving into the cleanest water in the city, just two feet from bed.
Architect Jim Garrison of Brooklyn-based Garrison Architects was asked to design a modular lakeside retreat for visiting families at a boarding school for troubled teens, Star Commonwealth, in Albion, Michigan. The structure took on an X formation, with one end equipped with floor-to-ceiling glass windows overlooking the water.
With a large glass door from Capral that opens completely to the elements, the master bedroom at thislakeside Australian retreat becomes part of the landscape.
Architect Adam Jirkal oriented this prefab houseboat in Prague toward the river as much as possible. “We wanted it to be as low to the water as possible, to really work with the water,” he explains.
