Borella Art Design is a design studio that works across multiple disciplines. Private residences, hotels, restaurants, retail experiences, spas, and yachts are among the projects it has worked on. Christine has represented interior designers and architects around the world, having served on the European Council and the International Federation as a board member.
Nicola expanded his cultural knowledge while designing the sets for theatre, opera and TV in Great Britain.
Together, Christine and Nicola Borella, founded the studio in 1981, to demonstrate their complementarity in design and to treat each job as a fresh creative journey. The studio’s works are based on their experiences and travels, with a dash of French know-how thrown in for good measure. They consider themselves as interpreters of the passion, desires and needs of their customers. Surprise, elegance and poetry; harmony, delicacy and lightness: a few keywords that guide their vision and achievements.
The team imagines, sketches, and crafts a unique and original design tailored to the project’s location for each one of them. Interior architects, designers, and scenographers like elegantly translating and interpreting the most diverse universes for a vacation invitation. One of their focus is the need to interpret changing lifestyles and change the use of spaces, to create an emotion in all their projects.
The team’s elegance and dedication have been rewarded several times with titles such as International Property Award winner from Europe 2016 under the category of Best Hotel Interior in France; Building of the year winner from Bulgaria 2017 award for Best Hotel Interior in Bulgaria; the latest award was received in 2019 for the Paradise Blue Hotel, “One of the most popular hotels worldwide.”
