Maison Valentina and partners brands have the pleasure to introduce you this incredible interior design project! Boca do Lobo talked with the young designers to find out more about this Private Residence in the Italian Countryside.
Being in love with our work is always the key to achieving better results. Are you in love with your job? What do you love the most about being an interior designer?
Our work is our hobby, our lifestyle. As interior designers, we are able to continuously evolve, to inspire, to generate ideas, to learn new things, to travel. We are always surrounded by an incredible number of beautiful things which is the aesthetic component in our professional growth. The design is always a creative search of harmony.
Do you have a favorite project or a favorite story behind one of your projects?
Last year we developed a very interesting project “Paris apartment”. We did not have any budget constraints. And we decided to challenge them – create something really unusual, unconventional. Paris duplex apartment located in a historic building has retained its unique character but significantly changed, become more modern and stylish. The basis of the composition takes dark color, which is rare in the decoration of Parisian residences. It became a perfect backdrop for brass metal accents and pieces of furniture. Using a noble marble Portoro, black gloss, dark glass, patinated brass combined with a magnificent oak parquet created an elegant and comfortable space for living. As a result of our meticulous work, each element has taken its place in space and created a harmonious and functional environment.
How important is a good chemistry between you and your clients to achieve better results?
Interaction with the client is very important. We usually work in contemporary styles such as minimalism, loft, eclecticism. Based on this the client comes to us for these stylistic directions. Our goal is to make not just a beautiful picture but also a comfortable space for each specific customer considering his lifestyle, habits etc. Before we begin to develop the project we discuss and carefully explore our client’s wishes, his action scenario in the space. During each stage, we keep a close relationship with him. We have one common goal, and we both are interested in getting a good result.
To conquer such a demanding audience is truly important to be informed about the latest trends on the field. How do you do this?
We regularly visit specialized exhibitions devoted to object design, interior design, and architecture. At the exhibitions of the factory present their best collection. We always follow the main trends in materials, shapes and colors. We recently returned from iSaloni in Milan. There we were inspired and got new ideas. Visiting the exhibition is always a good opportunity to learn something new, inspired and later use it in practice.
How would you describe your style? Do you have any personal “signature”?
Each project for us is an individual story. But we always follow certain principles.
Our interiors are comfortable spaces with natural materials and well-designed details. Aesthetics and functionality are inseparable. We like to combine different styles, forms, and materials. It is a contemporary style in which we often use techniques from different ages.
“Residence in the Italian countryside” is a mix of the best of classic and contemporary style. How did you create this concept and how did you find the balance between such different styles?
The interior of Italian countryside residence is decorated simultaneously in a classic and contemporary style. Initially, it was the beautiful old architecture of the space with vaulted ceiling. Exactly It is determined the direction of future style. We had the idea to combine modern furniture and classic techniques to see the passage of time. The interior is dominated by white color with bright accents to feel the airiness of the space. Artistic intarsia design on the parquet, golden pieces of furniture in combination with the unimaginable and unexpected details create unique and unforgettable atmosphere.
Which innovative techniques did you use in this project?
“Residence in the Italian countryside” is an experiment with style, color, and texture. Each area has its own unique character. We used different wall finish in each room. There are the ribbed white wall with a gold segment in the living room, panels with stucco elements in the entrance hall, in the dining room we painted the walls in maroon and kept the minimalist kitchen. The highlight of the bathroom was a large agate illuminated wall. As a result, the interior was complete and harmonious.
