The Winners of The German Design Award 2018 – The German Design Award ceremony took place on the past 9th of February as part of the tradeshow Ambiente, that like Light + Building happens in Frankfurt.

This award is only prized to the projects that represent pioneer contributions to the German and international design landscape. This award identifies and presents unique trends, advancing the design-oriented scene. The award celebrates all types of design, from fashion to product to interior design.

Philipp Webber

Phillipp Webber was granted the Newcomer 2018 award. Graduated from the Design Academy Eindhoven, in the Netherlands, his work focus on production processes, providing the world with new insights of the manufacturing processes.

Jill Sander

Jill Sander is a fashion designer who has always managed to stay ahead of the times! Her work combines art and design and her approach to design is radical, resulting in timeless modern, minimalist and clean collections, that live beyond trends!

Telegraf 7

Winner of the Excellent Communications Design Architecture Award, this is preserved telegraph office that was converted into a contemporary office building.  The center of the architectural concept are two minimalistic glass boxes that serve as a workspace.

Rilke und Russland

Winner of the Excellent Communications Design Fair and Exhibition Award, this traveling exhibition shows the huge significance of Rainer Maria Rilke’s decades-long relation with Russia.

Hauptbahnhof Wien

Vienna’s new train station was awarded as it is an urban architecture highlight. Thanks to its modern sculptural design aesthetic it has become a new calling card to the city of Wien!
