When the cocoon of an ambulatory comfort encompasses a home, the changing landscapes are bound together and constitute a concrete, sensorial space like the experience of wandering along a scenic path. Strolling in circle, or circumambulation is the main concept of this residential design. 9 Studio Design hope to create a sense of place within the limited floor area. The division of space enables the clear distinction between shared and private spaces. The total area of the shared spaces is larger than the private one, providing the families more places to get together. The opening at the entrance extends all the way to the vista of the balcony, where the light pours in. At the turn of the corner, the circulation leads to the private life of the bedrooms and baths. The relationships between inside and outside and between entrance and exit of the residence are in harmony yet unrestricted with the human movements. The dissected light beam becomes the boundary in which darkness hides and moves.

Home is not just a living space. It is a vessel in which families live together. It encloses interaction between family members, individual activities and mutual laughter. 9 Studio Design simplified and minimized personal space and kept the vast space as an open space for family activities. Utilizing an origami method, 9 Studio Design optimized the height of mutual activity space, insinuating an abstract concept that open space is the aggregation of family and giving the space a unique spatial expression and comprehensive connection of space perception. The concept of folded plate and kaleidoscope is 9 Studio Design expectation for this living vessel to be filled with imagination and playfulness. This is a subtle, real and touching feeling that emerges over and over again in life. 9 Studio Design demonstrated the uniqueness and conflicting beauty by using contrasting materials. Using revolutionary ceiling board, the team were able to keep the warm atmosphere of the house.

In addition to the carefully selected materials, the 9 Studio Design team put more emphasis on letting the customers savour their fresh-made delicacies once they are served. 9 Studio Design hopes that the room can follow the design of bionic architectures, so customers will connect themselves with the nature that they once experienced, sensed and were familiar with. Slow Living
The base is located where the resident can look out to distant views like the Kuantu plain and an extensive canopy of trees. It reflects the client’s attitude toward his living environment and his love of nature, fresh air, sunshine, and the circulation of air and water. His affective thinking draws the outline of a delicate and warm living space and ambience. The overall design is focused on expressing a sense of naturalness and the beauty of simple lines. The wooden lining wall and the black steel screen blend with each other to bring out a combination of natural texture and sophisticated industrial texture. Through the flow of light, a warm and natural ambient atmosphere is created. Large windows serve the purpose of borrowing scenery by bringing the lush greenery outside into view. The design is an attempt to get back to the essence of home life.
Warmth of Memories
9 Studio Design hope to seek out the profound spatial memory from the owner’s childhood memory and help keep the memories of home for the next generation in the future. This type of memory usually lacks a particular form but has profound warmth in life both visually and in tactile sensation. To demonstrate the warmth of home, 9 Studio Design restore the very simple nature of life. For space allocation, the team divided the space into two major areas of living and bedroom spaces. 9 Studio Design try to minimize the private space as much as possible and transform the majority of the space into an open domain for family activities. The doors are garnished with simple lines to smoothly incorporate them into the modern space tone. 9 Studio Design also allow natural light into the house to create a warm and natural atmosphere.
Native
The owner wishes to adopt a subtle and refined design for his idea of quality of living. Centring on the natural and native aurora, a large area of dark grey pandomo material was used for the first floor, complementing the weathered veneer and connecting the architecture concrete wall spanning the first and second floor. A calm, natural and simplified domestic atmosphere was created through the contrasting effect between the sophisticated texture of industrial iron element and delicate glass expression, carrying a subtle sense of fullness. With the high ceiling design, massive architecture concrete wall, and three lightweight, transflective weave chandeliers, we were able to visually expand the height of the wall. The entire space is interconnected and widened through penetration of lights. To convey a more intriguing and profound depth, 9 Studio Design used simple materials to construct a visual image with defined strength. Materials with sophisticated touch were used to portrait a simple, subtle artistic conception that pursues a sense of eternity.
Light Flowing
This project is located in a high-density mixed residential and commercial district. The owner who enjoys casual bird watching activities chose to keep two large outdoor balconies on both sides of the apartment. The apartment is surrounded by lights from three different directions. Each room opens into the balcony through a window. The design concept for this project centers on a relaxing, natural presentation and comfortable environment of outdoor balconies. For the entrance, 9 Studio Design used an expressive stone screen. The natural texture of the screen adds to the uniqueness of the entire space. In consideration of the owner’s requirement and the geological environment of the project, the outdoor balconies were the centre of the design concept, which brings the landscape from outdoor to indoor space. As a result, the magnanimity of the space inspired from the characteristics of the space and choice of materials created a subtle, elegant and relaxing ambience, reflecting the outdoor landscape and greenery. The design depicted the value of the apartment and portrayed a living attitude that seeks simple inner peace.
Yellow House
This interior design by 9 Studio Design has a dark colour palette to communicate depth. Yellow House has a modern interior design style which is a broad design term that typically refers to a home with clean, crisp lines, a simple colour palette and the use of materials that can include metal, glass and steel. Modern design employs a sense of simplicity in every element, including furniture. The bathroom is fully black with black marble bathtubs and washbasin.
Temperature of House
Considering the fast pace of life in the high-tech industry, the designer, as communicating with the client, finds that the kind of home he aspires to have is in essence one that gets back to the clean, simple, and non-hyperbolic aspects of design. As the house has a good view and enough sunshine, light becomes the axis of the design. The parlour, the dining room and the study become interlinked, which looks more spacious because of the uninterrupted flow of light. It provides a comfortable and easy living space. The overall design is focused on the creation of simple and clear-cut lines and the fusion of warm elements. Decorations with bright surface stainless steel ceiling and exquisite chandeliers are eye-catching because they are conflicting elements put together intentionally, shaping at the same time an expression unique to the surrounding space. Follow the wooden lining wall to the private bedrooms. As compared with the warm and clean texture of the open space outside the bedrooms, these rooms are decorated with grey black steel brush veneer and dark-coloured wallpaper, creating a calm and quiet sleeping environment. The designer makes a good use of different materials and colours to create a unique feature for each living corner.
Field Monologue
This project by 9 Studio Design is a public facility of a collective housing project, including 5 buildings. The core of the design is to create different space expression and a unique identity for each building based on the concept of gold, wood, water, fire and earth. The design concept of five elements is demonstrated by transforming it through abstract expression utilizing the intrinsic texture of materials and combination of color and space contour to give the public facility space a more diverse presentation.
