The celebration of Thanksgiving is, in general, a feast to give thanks for the fruits of the previous harvest.<\/p>\n

In America specifically, it dates back to the 1600s. There\u2019s some argument over when the first Thanksgiving was, but many think it dates back to 1621, when the harvest was celebrated by the Pilgrims \u2013 Dutch settlers of the Plymouth Colony in what\u2019s now called Massachusetts.<\/p>\n

It spread through the new country and was celebrated on different days in different commmunities until, in 1789, George Washington declared the first national Thanksgiving Day.<\/p>\n

In the United States, Thanksgiving is on the fourth Thursday of November. In Canada, it is the second Monday in October. On this holiday, a Thanksgiving meal is prepared with all the trimmings; families gather together and talk, while others watch a game or a parade filled with pilgrims, Indians and other colonial figures. Some families may even have their own yearly Thanksgiving traditions.<\/p>\n

Most importantly, make sure the entire room is squeaky clean.<\/p>\n

Stock the bathroom vanity with the little amenities your guests may have forgotten to pack, such as cotton balls, toothpaste, a toothbrush and a razor. Even the most organized travelers will forget something, so having those items readily on-hand will save them frustration.<\/p>\n

Brighten up the bath with a vase of fresh flowers and add a subtle aroma with scented soaps or potpourri.<\/p>\n

Sea sponges, bath salts, loofahs and bath brushes are items you\u2019d typically expect to find in a spa or high-end hotel. They\u2019re also inexpensive items you can pick up at your local dollar store. Fill a tubside bin with an assortment to treat your guests to a spa-like experience.<\/p>\n
