“I love a glamorous bathroom,” designer Marshall Watson says. He turned the master bath in a Florida house into a spa-like oasis with floor-to-ceiling windows, a Waterworks cast-iron tub, a custom vanity with crystal bars, also by Waterworks, and a crystal chandelier from John Salibello.

Deirdre Doherty gives to this vintage bathroom an old Spanish revival a fresh look.

Originally the owners were going to add a master suite, but then they looked up and realized that the third-floor attic, with its peaked roof and exposed beams, presented an unusual opportunity. “The first thing we shopped for was that tub,” says Chicago-based designer Julia Buckingham. “It’s the crown jewel.”

Inspired by hanami, the Japanese tradition of going to see the blossoms as part of a celebration of spring was inspired this bathroom design. Caroline Beaupère, the designer, designed this bathroom in New Jersey because she “loves cherry blossoms”

This tiles of the 1970s beach house bathroom are similar to a cement floor in Spain, but the pattern is based on a block print from India. Designed by Karen Vidal.

The beach is right outside this house in Marina del Rey, California, but you’d never have known it from the dark and cramped master bath. Designer Daleet Spector reconfigured the space and added large windows to let in more light.
